Welcome to the official launch of Cranial Collision!
This new project is all about "The Intersection of Theology, Philosophy, and Life." It seems to us that many people in America today don't think critically about what they believe and how that should affect the way they live. Many people cling to certain theological or philosophical beliefs, but the way they live their lives does not logically follow from what they believe. This compartmentalization of theology, philosophy, and life is not rational or healthy. If you want more information, the rest of our mission statement is available here, and we will be writing much more over the coming weeks and months!
I say "we" because I'm not launching out into a project of this scope on my own. I'm teaming up with my brother AJ to tackle the challenge that a disparity in these three areas creates. He has been an integral part of the brainstorming and decision making that has gone into this site so far, and will be involved in writing content every week. In addition, we hope to feature writing from other knowledgeable contacts that we have.
But this project is bigger than just the two of us. We need your help too!
Conversation
This project is all about conversation. This is not a one-way street of information flowing from us, the writers, to you, the readers. Rather, Cranial Collision is an "intersection" of thoughts: a conversation. We aren't very concerned about being right about absolutely everything. Rather, we are writing these posts to spark thoughts in your own heads and conversations here on the site and also offline. Sure, we will do our best to provide logical, well-researched arguments, but we would love to hear your opinions too. We've written a little more about this and the topic of differing opinions in our mission statement.
Also, just so that we are all on the same page, it might be a good idea to check out our comment moderation policy to know what is and is not allowed as the conversation progresses. Short version: don't attack anybody personally and please don't post spam.
Logo Explanation
Cranial Collision's main website logo was designed by our friends over at 5Solas Design. The two colliding skulls represent the collision of different thoughts and opinions: the disciplines of theology, philosophy, and the different views and opinions under those disciplines.
Launch Posts
We've launched the website today with two posts that I had written in the past that I believe are very relevant and applicable, and a great place to start this project off.
The first post contains some of my thoughts on how I see the beauty of God in nature, specifically, the mountains.
The second is also very fundamental and contains thoughts about the meaning of life and what's truly important.
Stay Updated
One of the best ways to stay in the know is to sign up for our email list, if you haven't already. We send out emails about once a week summarizing all that has taken place on the blog in the past week and providing links to the articles we've published.
Sign up now and stay in the know... it only takes a few seconds!
Thank you for visiting Cranial Collision and embarking on this meaningful project with us. It's going to be a wild ride!
